Richard P. Blankenship, CFA
Richard is a Relationship Manager with Franklin Street Partners and has been with the firm since November of 1997. He specializes in equity and balanced account management, focusing on both institutional and private investors. Previously, Richard was a Senior Vice President-Portfolio Manager for Bank of America Private Investments. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts and the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute. Richard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been in the financial service industry for over 25 years.

M.S. (Brick) Brown, III, CFP®
Brick came to Franklin Street Partners in June 2009 from Wachovia Bank, N.A., where he most recently served as National Sales Director for Wachovia’s Nonprofit and Philanthropic Services group, a division of Wachovia Trust. During his more than 27 years with Wachovia, Brown held a number of positions in the areas of retail banking, corporate banking and wealth management. Brown graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Business Management, and in 1992 completed the Young Executives Institute Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He currently serves as board member for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Wake County, the North Carolina State University Graduate School Board of Advisors, and the North Carolina State University Friends of the Library board.

Andrew E. James
Drew is a Relationship Manager with the Family Office division of Franklin Street Partners and has been with the firm since 2002. He works closely with high net worth families in a variety of wealth management roles, ranging from portfolio management to lifestyle management. Drew received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is very active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors at the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill.

Charles O. Mahaffey, AIF®
Chuck is a Relationship Manager with Franklin Street Partners. He focuses on advising high net worth individuals and families, as well as foundations, endowments and institutional clients. Prior to joining Franklin Street, Chuck was most recently a client advisor and investment consultant with Greenbriar Consulting, LLC. He was also with Wachovia Corporation for 25 years, serving as a Senior Vice President with Wachovia Asset Management in portfolio and relationship management positions. He also was the Philanthropic Investment Director of Wachovia Trust Company, responsible for managing nonprofit and trust client assets. Chuck received his Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University and completed the Young Executive Institute Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School. He holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation.

W. Robert Newell
Bob is Chief Executive Officer of Franklin Street Partners. In addition, he leads the marketing and business development efforts for the firm. He retired as President of Wachovia Trust Company in January 2009, after 27 years with Wachovia Bank. Bob is on the Board of Trustees for Peace College in Raleigh, serving as Chair of Development and a member of the Presidential Search Committee. Bob is Director of the Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind. He also served as past Chairman for the Forsyth Memorial Hospital Foundation Board and on the Board of Directors for the Hospice and Palliative Care Center Foundation. Bob received his B.A. in Business Administration from North Carolina State University.
